What is Captain/Senior Practices?

  • Summer practices are led by upper classmen (seniors and captains) and take place prior to the beginning of the season.  Practice dates are provided on this website and TeamSnap. 

Should incoming freshman & new players attend the captain/senior practices?

  • Yes, anyone interested in playing soccer and wanting to tryout should attend the summer captain/senior practices.

Where do the Captain/Senior practices take place?

  • Practices will take place at BVSW High School soccer fields.  Sometimes they will condition in the weight room prior to practicing on the fields.

What if I miss a Captain/Senior practice?

  • If you are on vacation or unable to make a summer captain/senior practice, let one of the captains or seniors know you will be gone.  They also communicate via group chat text so be sure to ask them at the first practice.

What is the Summer Camp?

  • The summer camp is not mandatory; however, highly encouraged for all players interested in playing high school soccer.  The summer camp is conducted by Coach Jones which provides him the opportunity to get to know the incoming players prior to tryouts.  The registration link, cost and dates are found on the website and the schedule is also posted on TeamSnap.

What is the 6v6 Great Plains Summer League?

  • A summer league of high school teams that compete against each other and gives players the opportunity to get to know other players at BVSW.

When does the 6v6 Great Plains Summer League begin?

  • The 6v6 Great Plains Summer League begins on July 2 – July 25th (no games on July 4th).  It will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings at Olathe West High School soccer fields.  Players must register and pay to participate.

How do I know which Great Plains 6v6 Summer League team I will be on?

  • Coach Jones will assign players to the 6v6 teams.  Once this information is available, we will post it on the website and send a TeamSnap message.

How do I register for 6v6 Great Plains Summer League?

  • Registration can be found on our website or at:  www.greatplains6v6.weebly.com. Register by grade level. Coach Jones will assign teams after registrations have been completed.

What is the parent meeting?

The parent meeting will generally take place the first Saturday after the week of tryouts (date, time and location on the website).  Coach Jones will discuss the soccer program and the Booster Club meeting will take place during this time. 

 

What is the BVSW Soccer Booster Club?

The BVSW Soccer Booster Club is the primary funding for the BVSW Boys Soccer program.  We provide funding for uniforms, practice gear, equipment, post-game sandwiches and drinks.  Voting for board members takes place at the end of season banquet.  Additional information can be found on the website.
